someone help me please

i did a system recovery the other day and now i have no sound.. only a beep every now and then. when i go to the volume control it says there is no audio device and says there are no ative mixer devices. can anyone help me? thanks
 
First things first... Go go device manager and look for any yellow ? in the unknown device section.. Is this integrated audio on the mobo or is it a seperate sound card? Either way its probably as simple as finding the drivers for your device and installing them...

Thats because you didn't have a sound driver installed. System restore/repair/reinstall only reinstalls Windows, not your drivers (which usually come on there own CD).

(This is mostly for anyone else who finds and reads this thread)
 
Bragar please stop doing this... This is unneeded info on this thread and if you do this enough with such a low post cound some mods might consider it spam
