Simple Question

i'm on a laptop and need a line in, can i mod the micphone jack to be line in since it already seems like one. (i need for a external tv card) i just dont want to have to get a external sound card too

I think you can always use a mic in as line in.

thats what i was thinking too, but i get no sound just video, is there some option i need to adjust? i'll look in options to see if theres a way of swiching something

Check your sound properties to see if "mic in" or "line in" is muted. If it is, then unmute it and you should get sound.

figured it out, theres 2 diff places where u can mute it and the obvious one wasnt and the other was thanks a bunch
