Should I return my Dell computer?

Hello,

I'm really conflicted with what I should do, Maybe someone here can help shed some light.

My Dell shipment just arrived with a large hole punched in the both outer & inner box. The computer metal case appears untouched. Should I return it?

When the shipment came I hesitated and accepted the package.

I haven't tried turning it on yet as I'm at work and have to wait. But given the fact that it was obviously mishandled by the shipping company makes me think that I shouldn't even try.

I know it'll be weeks before I get a new one and that's quite an inconvenience, but given this computer is worth a year's savings for me, I don't want to blow it. On the other hand, am I over reacting?

Any advice is much appreciated!

I would see if the computer works, if it does - dont bother, if it doesnt work then obiviusly return it :D

Probably overreacting just a bit. Plus, I doubt that the Dell would see damaged packaging as a valid reason for a return.

As long as the item is undamaged the packing material has done it's job and a majority of companies wouldn't accept a return. It's like buying something that has a dent in a clear case to the box of a computer mouse or something.
