Now I want to do is trade this for a decent desktop that has a decent graphics card. Somebody offered me a trade and here is what he offered:
* Biostar Motherboard P4m89-m7b
* 3.4GHz Intel Prescott
* NEW! 2GB DDR2 667/5300 RAM
* EVGA GeForce 8400 GS 512MB 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Video Card
* NEW! 250GB Western Digital ATA Hard Drive
* NEW! LG DVD/CD-RW Combo w/ LightScribe
* NEW! New Black Case w/ glow stick
* NEW! 480W Power Supply
* XP Pro restore disk with all drivers included

His setup clearly has a faster processor, bigger hard drive and a better video card. He was selling the system for 350. I am trying to sell my laptop for 425. Am I getting ripped off or is it a good deal? I am planning on getting a better video card but for now the video card is okay. So do I come out the winner in this deal??

Lol, that processor is slower, the pentium 4 is alot slower than a core 2 duo. The video card is the only part that is better, and even then its not even a very good video card. The biostar motherboard is a joke, its not even a very good board. IMO i would look into selling your laptop then building your own computer;)

Rip OFF that desktop is junk, the 8400 Video Card wont hardly play ne games, the cpu is much slower, personally i think ur laptop is better.

$ or £?

Yes you can if it is £, i built mine at first for just under £400 and it plays all games from that time and most from today on high, if $ i don't know but i'm not sure, £400 is more than $400

i dont see why u couldnt, you should be able to piece together something decent with that amount, it might not be the best but it would be better than the computer tht guy offered.

you could definatly aford it iff theres a CEX near - the one near me sells everything u need to build one -- god darn I LOVE THAT SHOP!!!
