Should I install the drivers?

I have been using the Windows 7 x64 for a long time now and the only driver I install is the driver for the video card.

Should I install the drivers for the rest of the system such as the drivers that came with the mobo?

If everything is working the way you want it to, then I wouldn't mess with it. If there are features you are missing, then install the driver for that device. IMO:

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

I usually do because I don't care for Windows generic drivers. I like the manufacturers drivers cause I personally believe they make the hardware work better.

All i install is my Vid card & Sound card drivers.anything else i let windows update sort out such as Ethernet & Mobo chipset drivers etc.

Never had any problems :)

As far as I know Windows 7 installs the actual drivers from the manufacturer. Once in Windows Update I found new drivers for the GPU and it said nVidia website on it.

Windows 7 is pretty good about installing drivers and software from the manufacturer, although it does say that there is an update for my X-Fi when Creative's site says I have the latest version.

Great. I was just wondering because my new build crashes twice already since I had it.

Didn't know what was causing it. Besides the crash, everything works great.

Anybody know if there are any better heat sinks out for the I7 860? I prefer the dba be under 24.

THanks

and if you have the room, go with two gentle typhoons(21db) on the heatsink, those fans are nearly silent to me
