should i have to do this?

I have the sb x-fi fatality pro series and under the mixer tab i have to turn down the wave and line in to just under half way just so that it doesnt make my speakers sound scratchy and blown out. I also have to turn down the bass and treble, should I have to be doing this? I was thinking maybe its my card but its the second one i have had. could it just be that this card doesnt work well with my computer? I was thinking of maybe down grading to the xtreme gamer instead, what do u think?

Sounds like your speakers can't take the volume it.... you shouldn't have to do it......

They should be able to tho cause i have klipsch pro media ultras 5.1, so I think i might try the xtreme gamer and see how it sounds

The xtreme Gamer is the same card more or less, heres something u might wanna try is muting your microphone when your not using it, see how that works for you.
