Hi,

I picked up a projector this morning being a PG-B10S made by sharp. i dont know how old it is (they were being made about 6-7 years ago tho) but it has a green circle covering most of the picture regardless of the input (or no input)

Ive read a few different people saying it could be a few different things.

Anybody have any pointers to find out how to know what the problem is? Im new to projectors but want to see if i can find out what the problem is.

Thanks
Luke

Do you have any pictures of what you are seeing on a screen? Could be something on the lens, could be a bad LCD inside the display, could be something wrong with the controller for the LCD inside the display...lots of possibilities.

heres a piccy if that helps,

its just on a stone wall which has been painted white and is on the initial screen which should be blue.

Sounds to me like the LCD inside it may be faulty, i'm not really an expert when it comes to projectors though. Other problems could be dust buildup, or one of the polarizing filters.

Ive taken the lid off to give a general clean around....have taken the main coloured screens part out and given a quick clean but didnt look dirty atall.

When i brought it the guy said the bulb had about 200 hours left in it, could it be going early and cause this problem?

Just had a look on there and its got buld timer (life) 1796h (10%) Guess that means 10% life left on the bulb which guess that could be the problem?
