Sharing Internet

Hi,

I'm trying to connect a second PC to a host one for sharing the internet only; this last has 2 network circuits, and the second only one. The cable is cross wired.

As hard as I try, I keep getting errors and nothing works in the installation ( I follow some instructions from here and from other places in the web ). The last error I get is that the local network can't find the IP - the connection is limited or doesn't exists.

Any ideas?

Kind regards,

Personally, I prefer Proxy servers... I think they are a bit easier than windows auto shit, but they do take a bit more work(in some ways)

Basically, you just need a program(analogx has a free proxy program) Then, on the cards connected to the two machines, you simply need to setup some IP address. Most commonly would be like 192.168.1.1(proxy server) and 192.168.1.2(other computer) Then from your internet software(Internet Explorer, AIM, whatever....) you must setup your proxy server. There should be an option under something like Tools, Options, Internet Connection. Set HTTP to your proxy server's IP(192.168.1.1) on port 80. That SHOULD work... But, this isn't the best way to setup shared internet, just my prefered way :P
