 i have two systems i mean one of them is desktop and rest of the one is laptop this time i want to connect them to share internet connection so plz there would be any one to do me a favour and which cable i should use .

Are both machines running Windows XP? How's the modem connect to your computer? Ethernet or USB?(assuming broadband)

If you have a laptop, why not get a wireless router(and wifi card if you're laptop doesn't have one...)

sharing connection

i have usb modem and windows xp is intalled on both of the systems but you told me about wireless so what to do with wireless card. is it not possible to do crossover networking to connect both of the systems to each other.

I know it's possible to connect two computers together by a crossover cable. I'm pretty sure XP has some wizard on how to setup all this stuff(both IPs and sharing the connection), but man, I've basically never used that because I find networking(with a router and all) much easier :P

I might play around with the process a little today, but I'm sure there's a guide somewhere on the interent. Hehe, or I could tell you how I used a proxy between my computers, but that's not the best method :P

Eh...hmm... I've done a little with crossover cable network sharing and it wasn't nearly as simple as plugging the cable into the machines. But no crossover cable handy, so I'll have to make one and try later.
