Server Timing Out

Coolhuh

Hi,

I have a small network of computers (14) with 1 server using Microsoft Server 2003. About once a day one of the computers has an error message that says the computer was unable to connect to the server because the server timed out. It happens on various computers on the network with one of the programs I am using, the internet is never affected it still works and the other computers I can still use the program.
Any suggestions on fixing the problem?

Also how do I find the DNS address so I can set up the internet on the server?

Thanks

This is common with Online Gaming, it "lags" ut because too much information is being sent and received. Try using ctrl+alt+del to see what processes are running and rearrange appropriately.

This problem usually occurs overnight when no one is on the computers. I have to go to network connections and click repair, then it will usually let me reconnect to the program on the server. The internet is never interrupted.

well whats ur problem then lol aslong as it dont do it in the day time its not aproblem

could u have a time out script on there

There's a known (well .. some of us know of it :D ) bug in Server 2003.

But first, have you set up a domain managed via DNS ?
Are the client machines in this domain?
At the server, do you see "Disconnected Network Drive" for mapped drives that still work ?

Yes, I'm keeping the questions simple for now as your problem may be unrelated.
Whatever, it isn't a timeout script.

What OS(s) are the clients running ?
