I just finished connecting my server to the internet and getting all the software I need onto it. How can I connect it to my main computer and to other computers in my network? It is using a network adapter.

server is a pretty wide range term
web server
proxy server
application server
mail server
storage server
printer server
........

if you are using a firewall you need to allow connections to the ip's of your computers. besides that just use MS networking. it should be faily eay, sometimes.

what specific thing do you want the server to do?
 
for MS networking, what OS you on? for the most part control pannle>Network Connections>Local Area Connection>properties> make use file and printer sharing are installed/on. do that on all comps. right click on my computer>porperties>computer name>set network ID and computer name> open up my network places>view workgroup computers.

i can tell you how to do a home web server, but i dont know how to do the other stuff.

I have 2000. Lemme see if the first thing you mentioned works, but I don't have a "computer name" tab in the My Computer Properties.

Its weird, I know my way around XP but some things in 2000 seem almost alien.
 
it's doable in 2000. im guessing you have xp pro, cause i cant figure out how to do adaved network stuff with home
