Seriously this is fing redicolous

So I took my computer apart today to put in a new cpu cooler and I could not figure out how to put it on. So i put it back together and it turns on just fine but I get no display on the monitor. I tried the integrated vga port and the vga port on the video card nothing. I even bough a new vga cable as some of the pins were bent on the old one still nothing. Please for the love of god help me and this computer was working fine before i took it apart.

Turns out the cpu actually physically would not sit in the socket I am guessing that basically the motherboard is worthless at that point am I wrong?

Did you put the CPU in correctly? It goes in only one way. If you shoved it in, chances are you bent pins on the CPU.

I dont understand how it can go from working perfectly fine to to not working and how the cpu will all of sudden not go in to place but **** ill never know computers

well the best way i can describe it, its like the cpu doesnt go to the motherboard at all even though it does it just sits on top of the socket its very weird.

When you removed it originally, did you accidentally pull the processor out of the socket without releasing the latch? This will happen if the processor is stuck to the heatsink.

So the processor was stuck to the heatsink when you pulled it out? If so you now have CPU socket damage. However please check to make sure the locking lever is up before inserting processor.

yup i have the cpu socket damage and i did pull the lever up i imagine this just happens when the thermal grease isnt changed for years

I've done this multiple times, even on my own machine, but it's never caused socket damage.

I've done it twice on older systems and have caused socket damage, ended up having to build new systems. Still wouldn't boot up with a different processor so knew it was socket damage.
