Ok, i bought an OEM Vista Basic OS, from an online company. I installed it, input the serial key and everything went fine for 3 weeks about, until my computer gave me problems. So I rebooted and reinstalled everything and tried to input the serial key. BUT! its gives me the message " THIS SERIAL KEY IS IN USE ALREADY." I never gave my cd/serial out so WTF ?!?

WHAT DO I DO . :confused::(:mad:

THANKS

You have to call microsoft and get a new serial key everytime you reinstall. The reason it says the serial key is already is in use is cause you used it once already.

If its legit, call them and tell them that you reformatted the computer and re-installed windows on the same computer, and now your getting that message. If your running a legit version, their shouldn't be any problems.

I had to google for this number couldnt find it on the microsoft website.

(800) MICROSOFT (642-7676)

Hopefully it works post back here if it doesnt and ill try and find a different number.
