Seemingly Unfixable speaker problem

All of a sudden, the sound on my computer is always distorted and scratchy, and whenever i try to play a video or a song on my computer, it sounds like total crap up until 3 minutes of being played. After about 3 mintues, the sound starts sounding normal again. (NEver gets all the way there)
Video's have the same problem.

The video's aren't unwatchable, but very very annoying, seeing as I have a nice computer, and the sound used to be perfect.

Don't have a virus or anything, SO HELP ME PLEASE!

well what kind of computer is it?what kind of sound card do you have?what have you done to try and fix the problem?try reinstalling your sound drivers first.
