Secure FTP

How can I secure the FTP connection I currently make from the exterior to my NAS? Can I use SSL or the like? Basically, I want to encrypt all data transmission to and from the NAS, as to avoid all hacking of the drive.

Also, how do I set it up? I have an Iomega StorCenter Network Hard Drive.

Yeah you can use SSL when connecting through FTP.

Is the secure connection made only on the client side? No need to install something on the server side?

The server must support SSL too.
