Searching IP over a workgroup

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. If you want to find the IP addresses of all devices on a network you can check the LAN properties of each component or look in the router. If not all devices are in the workgroup then you can eliminate those.

I mean that I would like to wake a lan remotely, I what the computer's name is, like user-THINK, but I cannot know it's IP, but it is within the workgroup(within a school), how can I sort it out, by program or scripts???

I've not used WoL but the IP address of the PC on the LAN is the least of your problems. For starters, you need the IP address of your destination router. If the ISP uses DHCP, then the IP address is going to change from time to time. You would need a static address; use something like Dynamic DNS which gives you a hostname; or use an app that will email you the current IP address.

Once you have connected to the LAN, then you should be able to wake up the desired PC using the MAC address (not the local IP address). There are a few other things that are necessary but that's the main info about addresses.
