Screeching Sound coming from Studio Monitors

I have a pair of external studio monitors hooked up to my computer. They use standard RCA cables that both connect into a 1/8th adapter and go into the back of my PC.

They also connect into a keyboard that I have through XLS cables.

When I have them on, I can hear a screeching sound ONLY when they are plugged into my computer.

What could be causing this, and is there a way to stop it?

Depending on what I am doing on my computer will make the noise increase or change. It is faint, but very noticeable when up close.

Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

Using an onboard Realtek card. Was considering getting an external.

Using them for both actually. I use them for listening to songs once in awhile, but mainly use them for a keyboard application I have on my computer. And occasionally with a program that I use to compose music.

It's odd.. Sometimes they're silent(right now).. but they were just making the noise quite a bit while I had the keyboard application open.

Make sure all your power and signal cables are well sepreated as you can get cross interferance with the cables being close to each other. Secondly I recommend upgrading to the Asus Xonar Essence STX or if you can/want to spend more go with an external DAC.

Also what is the keyboard application that you are using? Have you tried using another program?

The program is Synthesia, and it communicates over MIDI-USB. I also have Reason, which I believe does the same. Reason has no screeching noise but Synthesia does. Let me post on the forums for that and see if anyone knows.
