I've got a sound blaster Live audio card which is marketed as a 5.1 card, but when I bought my 5.1 altec lansing speakers and I never get any sound from my center channel, even with a dolby digital movie. This may be a driver issue, but since it's an older card they no longer make new drivers for it.

Are all your volumes up correctly? I never liked the controls Creative had for their cards...they always messed up on me :-/

I guess check your connections too... How are your speakers running? Digital connection or are you using 3 wires?

The speakers run great and my volume's always on max. I have all three wires plugged in (yellow, black, green) and when I turn the center channel volume up on the speakers I can hear the air noise so I know it works, but the card itself is probably crap, I need to get at least an Audigy 2, but I wanted to see if any has or had this card and ran it with 5.1 sound

i used to have a sound blaster live! 5.1, and they have drivers for them, go to www.soundblaster.com and select the sound blaster live! 5.1

And i've had many problems with creative and getting the sound card drivers to work correctly, so you may have to do some playing around.

Are you sure you had a center speaker connection on the subwoofer ?
Thats where it's controlled
The best test is Creatives speaker testing.I had what you have, but now have audigy2 and Logitek X-530 5.1.I think thats why They all work.
Don't use the vxd drivers.Use WDM.

you just have to go into the settings and mess around until you get somthin...it took me about a hour to get my 5.1 surround to work on the rear satillite speakers:)
