I live out in the boonies and cant get Cable or DSL, but i do have DirectTV.
I was wondering if i put a cable splitter on the cable that runs from the satelite to its reciever and then ran the cable that i connects to the splitter to a modem like a cable modem or satelite modem if it would would work and connect me to the net????? sorry this might be a dumb question but i would rather have this than paying 90 bucks a month for Satelite access. Thanks

haha

Sorry man. A setellite internet connection usually means that you have a line for outgoing commands (upload) and the satellite dish for the incoming data (download). Therefore what you have suggested will not work.

Also i think it is possible to use a satellite for upload and download, at least thats what i think i read somewhere, but this is far more expensive.
