Sandy Samsung ?

Hey!

Iv got a Samsung Digimax A7 digital camera, but it got sand in it- which stopped the lens shutters closing. I managed to get them to close my using a pin and drag both of the sides shut over the lens but it still didnt work! When I turn it on , the screen with samsung logo comes on but then there are 3 beeps and it switches back off again. I thought that it wasnt turning on because the shutters were open but since it didnt start even when the shutters were closed again, I am a bit stuck. Should I take it into bits n look for a problem inside it?

Cheers,

Lol, you say "look for the problem" i think you know what the prblem is, its got ten tonnes of sand inside it. If it was a phone or somethign it would be ok, just clean it all out, but a camera is obviously a lot different, feel free to open it and try to clean it, but if there is sand in the lens or optical sensor you are screwed. be warned this will void any and all warrnties on the camera. I would take it to a shop and get it repaired.

I dont think it should be too bad, it wasnt dropped in sand , just gota tiny bit in it. Might try to open it up later n see whats happenin, doesnt look like theres any seal over it so dunno how the people would know i void the warranty.

Well, if you trust yourself enough to open it up, open it up and try to clean it. It will either work again, continue to operate the same, or you'll probably make it worse.
