running a browser from a usp thumb drive on work computer

I was wondering if I installed a internet browser like Firefox onto a usp drive and took it to work to use on my office computer would it leave a trace on the office computer when I pulled the drive? I work in a specality retail shop and some days get SOOOO slow, like 2-3 customers over a 10 hour period. I was wondering if I dled firefox to my thumb drive at home and broght it to work and used firefox to surf the web like reddit, or play some flash games and stuff to kill some time would it leave a trace on the office pc at the end of the day?
 
Could just try installing the application to the USB stick and seeing if it functions properly. I did it that way with older versions, and seemed to work fine.
