Router Trouble

I just bought a new wired router so I can get internet to my xbox system (original xbox). When I get home I remeber that the new internet service I got today is working through USB instead of Ethernet because the Rogers guy couldnt find "Local Area Connection" in my Control Panel/Network & Dial-up Connections. I remeber having it there, but I recently reformatted my hard drive so I guess that got rid of it. How can I get it back so I can get my internet running on Ethernet cuz the router wont work with USB.

it should be as simple as plugging an ethernet cable into the router and connecting it to your computer/xbox...

well heres the problem...I plug the modem into the router but then I need to plug the router into both my computer and xbox system, and my router only works with ethernet, and my computer gets internet through USB....would it be a problem if I did jsut plug a ethernet cable into the router to the computer?

if you bypass your xbox, then no... but to get both to work simultaneously you will have to buy a switch/hub to have them both use internet...

It sounds like you nevered entered your area code for your phone. If you did not do this, it ghost out and removes a lot of networking options.

Yes it sounds stupid, I know you dont use your modem... did you enter it?
