Reuse an old laptop (AU)

Hey Guys, as you can see in my sig I have an Asus F3SG which isn't working to well. I somehow managed to stuff up my BIOS (I think it was some Asus security setting), my wireless adapter isn't working (which means no internet) and the screen is starting to become dim.

Anyhow, I was just wondering if some of the other parts would sell well on Ebay (or here). The Laptop has a Seagate Momentus 250gb 5400RPM HDD which works fine, and 2gb (2x1) ddr2 667mhz RAM which also seems to work ok.

My main question is how do you think these parts will sell on Ebay/here and how much money could I get for the parts? As you can see in my sig, I have a build coming up in Late June/Early July, and some more money would really help.

Thanks, Jeremy

Hi jeremy442,

I would try try Craigslist as well. And go ahead and put your parts up on eBay and see what happens. I would start the bidding at 50% off the price of your hardware new and see what happens - I don't think you can be charged if nothing sales, or am I mistaken?

Evidently no one here is interested, or has read this thread - you might make a new post titled "For Sale - RAM and HDD" - I don't know if other users browse this forum the same as I do, but I pay no attention to what section of the forum posts are made - I just click on "new posts" as soon as I sign in, and look at the title of the posts.

You could check on ebay to see how much the parts have gone for in the past m8,
go to ebay, click on advanced search, type your items and then click on completed listings and then search
this will show how much they have sold for in the past

Okay, thanks for the advice.

how much would you like for the hdd? i only have 70 gigs, and an upgrade would help:rolleyes:

Just checked on the Australian post website, shipping will cost $15 regular airmail, so I could do $50 (maybe!)
