Restart Sound from Computer

My computer periodically sounds like it is being rebooted, but I am still able to continue working on it. The sound is quite annoying and happens approximately every ten minutes. Has anyone had any similar problems. Please Help!
 
Need more info. Sure you dont just have a fan going out or dirty, Power Supply/cap/core choke squalling on you.

what is making the noise, hard drive, bios beep, is it the sound from the speakers with the windows welcome screen?

It's a 2001 Sony Vaio. Never any unusual sounds from the fan or any other performance issues.

where is the sound coming from i meant, there are many sounds a computer makes, where is this partiicular sound from and what does it sound like?
