Replacing Windows 7 Icons?

I downloaded a bunch of replacement Icons, for programs like Utorrent, Xfire, WoW and such, just because they look nicer than most of the default ones. They are PNGs. I'm wondering, where do I drop these different icons in order for them to work and take place of the old icons? Using Windows 7.

works well and is free. are you replacing the icons for shortcuts or are you trying to change them for things like the computer, user, and recycling bins?

I have one for My Computer, and most of the rest are for programs and games. They came as PNGs like I said before, so I don't know exactly where I should be sticking them so they replace the old icons?

ok, go to that linked i posted. click "choose file." find the file and then click "convert." after it converts, there should be a "download" button. select that and it'll open an image in a new tab. save that image to where you have the png icons. then right click on the shortcut for whatever you are changing and click properties. click on "change icon" and navigate to the folder with the icons. select, apply, and click ok.
