Remote sound card use?

I have a decent sound system on my desktop at home, however most of my media is on my notebook (I travel a lot). I was wondering if its at all possible to use my desktops sound card on my notebook while on the network (P2P) at home. I am not sure if it is possible via mapped drives. Any help would be appreciated. Both Comps are running Win. XP Pro.

P.S. First time on computerforum.com, nice site! :D

Hehe, not the best setup, but you could use something like VNC. This basically just controls your desktop as if you where using the mouse on the computer... Just open a file from your laptop, and it'll play on your desktop. Probably not exactly what you wanted, but it would work ;)
