Remote desktop

I cannot get remote desktop to work!!!!
I have an actiontec DSL router/modem and a dlink router.I set the actiontec DMZ ON host ip is the same as my dlink router (192.168.1.1). On the dlink router I forward port 3389 to the computer I want to connect to (192.168.1.101). I made sure "allow users to connect remotly" was checked. IT STILL DOSNT WORK!! Can someone please help??
 
what error is it giving you? Have you tried any of the other remote desktop apps, such as realvnc
 
"The client could not connect to the remote computer". The only one Ive used is remote desktop and it has worked just fine for what I need it for. I just wish I knew what I was doing wrong
 
what remote desktop program are you trying to use? i also have the Actiontec DSL modem, i use AccessRemotePC for the LAN, and LogMeIn for over the interenet.
