Remote Access

Is there a Device that allows me to connect to another computer, i dont fancy any of the software that can be bought via internet, as it dosent seem safe. I have VERY important documents on the computer i want to access.

Also i wish to offer support to this computer in the means of taking control and solving the problem while they watch, but i dont have to be in the same room or building!

Ive heard there is a piece of hardware that can do this. Money isnt a object.

If you are running Windows XP Pro, it has a built in remote desktop utility. I use it all the time.

yeah but windows remote desktop requires the user logged onto the client machine to be logged off. This is no good for his requirments (thats not a dig at the idea though)

So is there no like phsyical hardware device?

eh? There are two bits of hardware - your pc and the one your connecting two. Why would you need anything else. Unless you want a hardware method because you cant access the client pc / or arn't given permission to access it, in which case i think you should ask permission.
 
go to www.logmein.com, on the pc you want to access, download the software, then the computer you want to use to access the other, then its browser based from there on. its perfectly safe, i use it all the time form college and home
