reinstalled windows xp, now no sound

I reinstalled windows xp. Now no sound. When I try to download sound this is the message I keep getting: Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to install drivers. this is normal. I can see from that mess of text you posted that your computer is a dell.

do you have a model number? after that it will be simple.
 
It is a dell Optiplex GX260

When I go to dell support and try to download the audio driver or the chipset, the message that Posted earlier is what I am getting.
 
It might help to not use dells download manager and to just use your browser to download the file and run it.
 
You need to install the chipset drivers prior to the sound card drivers. You will find them on linkin's link.
