recording video with soundcard???

OK, this may sound stupid, but I had to ask. Theoritically, would it be possible to record with my computer the signal that comes from an RCA wire with an RCA-1/8" adapter (by plugging one end to the line in of my computer and the other end to the RCA out of my decoder), then plug one end to the line out of my computer and the other to the RCA in of my TV and play the recording and see the video on my TV.

As I said, this may be completely stupid, but I had to know, so I tried: It doesn't work (obviously!!), but could it work?

Thanks!

Hehe...Um, a sound card is called that for a reason ;) No, there is absolutely no way you could capture video with a sound card. Audio and video signals are totally separate, regardless if they use the same connection.

If you want to capture video, get a capture card.

Haha, well it certainly was an interesting thought... Now I have seen a few capture cards with sound cards as well(and I'm not referring to the WinTV PVR series) But you still had RCA for the video and headphone jacks for the audio.
