Reccommend A Good Wireless Router

whats a good wireless router...I dont need a GREAT wireless router...I have a desktop thats gonna be connected through wires...its just that I take my laptop to school and all my notes/schoolwork is on there and I'd like to get on it while in bed (which is not too far from my desktop, maybe 10 feet since I live in a dorm).....and do some surfing/ and online assignments...thanks...my budget is $50

ok i usually dont buy off brands but here is an exception... this belkin, is greak i have had it for 2 years, 3 different internet service providers and not a single problem!!
 
linksys or buffalo for me, anything that widely supports third party firmware. Linksys and buffalo both do this, and are both really good routers.
 
difference is mostly throughput... b is 11Mb per second, g is 54Mb per second. If you are using dsl at 1.5Mbs then it doesn't really matter which you get. If you're going to share files between computers and/or play games head on, then go with the g.

Also, n will be standardized soon, that will give you double the range and MUCH more throughput then b or g. Me personally, I don't need more than g right now, and it is the defacto standard at current.
 
I'd go with g or n, as they are backwards compatible with a and b. N isn't that common yet, so it depends on how much you want to spend.
