Realtek Audio Driver problem

I have a EeePC 900HA netbook from asus...

When I tried to turn on my netbook today it started the OS (windows xp sp3) but it froze the taskbar, after much work i realized that the sound drivers were not loading properly, even if they were working perfectly recently...
then I just disabled the sound controler from the BIOS since it is onboard, and the Windows start running fine, but of course with no sound...

Every time I try to uninstall the current Sound drivers the system freezes no matter if it is Safe Mode or Normal Mode....

I wonder if it is possible to delete the drivers manually, I mean find the driver file and delete it completely or any other solution, will be appreciated

Have you tried reinstalling the sound drivers? What about doing a system restore back to a day where it was working fine?

I did activate the sound controller from the BIOS and now the system freezes again....so it is definitely the sound device....I downloaded the last release of the drivers but when I try to install them with the sound controller activated (at the BIOS) it freezes, while when I try to install these drivers when sound controller is disables from BIOS they get installed, but do not work...
next I will be trying driver reinstall and if it does not work Ill try system restore but I am pessimistic enough at this point since everything I have to do has to be done in safe mode because in normal mode the notebook freezes

Solution

In safe mode with the sound controller (enabled in BIOS)....DISABLE all the sound devices...wait for a while and UNINSTALL sound devices....

Restart (without trying to install Drivers before restart)

INSTALL new sound Drivers...everything should work fine

PS: after the restart there are good chances that the pc freezes again so as soon as you log in press Ctrl+alt+Del...than try to get to the Control panel using RUN from the TaskMgr it miaght be possible that you get "microsoft kernel drm audio descrambler" driver problem at the Device Manager so delete it...and install the new drivers
