Really screwed

howdy. I just installed win 98se on a toshiba tecra 8200. Now i gots problems. I haven't a driver disk for the toshiba, so i'm trying to download the updates; except i can't get the LAN to work on the ethernet port. I'm using another tecra (with a pc card) to download the drivers then pass them along on the IR port, but most of what comes through in the end doesn't seem to extract properly (so says my computer). Any thoughts on what i'm doing wrong?


edit: i since unzipped the update for "Toshiba Network Device Switch for Windows 98SE/2000/XP" and sent the folder across...although after reading the update documentation, i can't see how it would help. I couldn't install it, anyway.

I got them from the toshiba support site, after going through the 98se filters.

Should i be able to connect useing a LAN right out of 98se installation? Just wondering if there was some additional toggleing necessary (outside of the internet setup) that i forgot or just missed. In short, do i need those drivers right off?

98 doesn't have that many NIC drivers, so you probably need something to connect to the internet first...
