re: ethernet question

Does anyone have any experience using etherfast USB 2.0 10/100 network adapter? This could be a possible solution to my ethernet question in my earlier post. I could hook the cable modem up through the adapter into a USB port thus freeing up the PCI ethernet port. Any concerns or advice concerning this approach?

usb sometimes has connection issues... But if you need the pci slot.. go for it.

I tried using USB for the heck of it just to see how it worked, worked fine so go for it!

Same here, but i couldn't quite figure out how i was getting 100mbps with a USB 1.1 adaptor

a failure on windows part to detect the correct speed, nothing more

Or simply, it's detecting it as a 100mbit device, but your true transfer speed is not 100mbit.
