I thought what Webb did was a good way to get some direct constructive criticism on your photos. So I thought I would post three of my photos and hopefully you guys would be willing to grade them, but leave comments to which one you like best/ least and why.

Thanks
Bob

Have to say the sunset is the better of the 3. I think if the background was just a bit more in focus it would have really won me over. The CPU just doesn't grab you. I understand the focus idea, but it's not enough. The speaker was a decent one as well.

Well, let me tell you a little bit about the sunset photo.

That sunset was actually my background for my pc so that could explain the quality loss.

Thanks for the comments. Would some of you that voted for the lower ratings be willing to post why?

Thanks
Bob

The sunste has only half the bottle... either full or none here sorry..

Anyway that's just my opinion :P But the focus was well done if you manually did it.

Too much macrophotography of useless things to take macro photos :P

Your pictures need to be somthing new... Anyone can take a speaker and do the same pictures as you did :P same for the CPU :D

Well I disagree whole heartedly on that, but thanks for the opinion anyways.
Also I didn't just take a macro for the sake of it, I thought of something that would look nice in macro form and went at it.
And if your statement about anyone being able to take thoes photos is true, then your photos, my photos and anyones photos would be nothing special therefore anybody can be a professional phtographer... ofcourse thats just my opinion. ;)

Thanks
Bob

I am no professional nor do I think I am one ( just want to make sure you understand what i think :D).

What makes a great picture is how it is different from any other ones, for example, anyone can take a picture of the Eiffel Tower, But can they take it on a sunset with the colored cloud? Only one pictue can look like it.

Trust me, I know that neither of us are professionals and that we are only here to share our work and gather helpfull feedback.

However I feel that all the photos I posted above are one of a kind. Could someone go and take a similar photo? Yes of course then can, but all three of the pictures above had special attention given towards lighting, angle and composition.
Don't get me wrong, I know that some people will like the photos and some people will hate them. I just get the feeling like your bashing my work, when I put my special touch into it. I don't go around and just point my camera at things and click. I do understand however, that these photos have one dominate focus and that some people don't like that. I would urge you to take a look at some of my other photography and see how you like that (link below). Almost every photo of mine was taken with care and consideration, as I am sure yours were also.

Simple- I don't appreacite the thread hijack.

I think macro shots are great, they show a lot of personality, they get up close with something and you start to notice things you couldn't see bofore, You'll gain a different opinion on certain things and from then on you'll look at them differently. I think they're really interesting! :D

For example shot 2689 on your collection has something original : The "yellow" lightning... That I like.

Please don't think I was trying to bring down your work or whatever, was just giving my opinion. I clearly did not say it was bad. It's just not that original. I am sure you gave a lot of attention but only to "normal" lightning on that shot...

You have some nice shots in your collections, I like the sunsets...:D
