Hi guys,
My unbranded desktop computer randomly did an emergency style shut down about 20 minutes ago.
One minute I was browsing MG-Rover.Org replying to a thread and the next it said "Shutting Down" and switched off!
I thought - Oh god! It has overheated!
But when it powered up again the temperature was at 44*C for the CPU and 33*C for the system as a whole, and the fan was spinning at a normal 4,400RPM speed.
Here is the details:
Windows 2000 Professional SP4
Asus motherboard
AMD DURON processor
19MB HDD - 15MB free space
The PC is used 12 hours (usually non-stop) per day, and is around 2 years old.
I would like to add I always service the computer regularly, and make sure it is in good shape, which it is!
It has only happened once, however I don't want it to happen again, and it is bugging me!
