When I turn on my computer it stays on for several minutes and then it suddenly restarts. After that the computer is constantly restarting every second. I can't turn it off with the power switch Becuase I have to hold it down for a few seconds for it to work, and the computer is only on for a seond at a time. So i just pull the plug.
Is this overheating or a faulty PSU?

I have a:
1ghz AMD Athlon
eVGA 26MB Nvidia GeForce 4000MX
256MB RAM

I wouldnt be overheating... because it you just turn it on none of the parts should even be hot at the moment...I would guess it is your psu but without buying another one i'm not sure of anyway to test it out

Are you sure you have all of the power connectors in the motherboard correctly??

If you don't have them in correctly that will happen. Also, if you have some kind of short (Ex; Metal showing in a while touching another metal spot).

It's your PSU. Is it a PSU that came with a case? Then there ya go! lol

Your PSU probably doesn't have a long enough hold-up time... forgot what it's called but you probably need to look into a new PSU.
