ram question/gaming question

i have a 512mb ram, dell dimension 8300, pentium 4 2.8 ghz, nvidia 5200 fx video card.

i just bought a 1gb ram stick yestaday but havent had the chance to put it in yet. will the ram be 1.5GB? and will i notice a difference in gaming? and loading?/faster?

with 1.5gb and the rest of my specs can i play warhammer online??
 
Didn't you ask this in another thread? While the extra gig of RAM will help overall, the FX5200 is the real bottleneck in your system when it comes to gaming. Do you know if it's an AGP or PCI card? If it's AGP then I would recommend upgrading it.
 
agp. im not talking about the video card. im saying with 1.5gb help my system play games?

and with the extra ram can i run warhammer?

And I'm saying that the video card is the primary culprit for you not being able to play games very well. Sure the extra gig of RAM will help, but only to an extent. I can't say for sure on Warhammer.

Since it's AGP though, have you considered an upgrade for $45 such as this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131134
