Hello all, my question might sound weird or useless, but I wanted an answer to my question.
I recently bought a second hand IBM X3755 M3 Rackmount server to add to my collection, but none of my desktop computer have this kind of specs...
So, the exact specs of the server are:
32Gb Ram DDR2
3x AMD Opteron 6000 @ 2.8Ghz eatch core. (16.8Ghz)
4x SAS drives at 15k RMP
Open SLI slots for a future good GPU.
Now, with this said, would it be really bad to use it as a second PC (it would still be mounted in my server room with long cables for VGA and USB's)
Or would it severely decrease my performance in my desktop experience on a i7 3.2Ghz 8Gb ram laptop?
Yes it's weird, and I don't really care about the money I spend on it, it's just a question
EDIT: I would run Windows 7 x64 and Debian on it. (Not all applications i use work on unix systems. it would run on the virtualization)
Thank you!
PVTD
