I read admin Praetor's RAID guide i cleared some of my doubts and I also rad about RAID on wikipedia but still I am not so sure I get the practical application of RAID and which one to USE and should it be USED or not.I also dont see the difference between deifferent levels like which one would be better or for what purpose in practica use and are SCSI hard drives related to RAID i also dont get the concept of SCSI hard DRives

raid zero is where it is spread across two or more drives, but it is pretty much fractured, so the drives have less to go through on each disk, raid 1 is basically mirroring, where if you lose one hard drive, you just just add another one to complete the array, raid 5 is like raid 0, but with backup, so there is a 3 disk minimum(two for the striping, and one for the backup) those are the three most economical raids
raid 0 is best used for information that can be lost
raid 1 is best for important information, where data loss is a bad thing
raid 5 is more or less for parity and speed

Those have nothing to do with RAID, if you need speed then the best option would be a 15,000 RPM SCSI drive, as SATA only goes up to 10,000.

I know that ut which all motherboards support SCSI hard drive are there any x58 motherboards supporting

and thanx for your input till now just a noob and omega

I know most X58 motherboards support SAS (serial attached SCSI).
