Aint posting on here for some time know don't know why... Anyways let's set down to the point hope you guys can help me out.

Well the problem is i have no sound coming from my main speaker they aint nothing special but thats not the point the speakers come on im 100% nothing's wrong with the speakers as they work on my laptop fine, when i plug in my headphones from the front connection on the tower they seem to work fine, hmmm seems weird could this just be a driver fault or i haven't got the right drivers installed my uncle sorted this out for me couple off months back but my computer crashed witch meant i had to do a clean install off vista and since that day its not been working.

seem like im missing drivers or have the wrong once installed right ? im running a dell xps 420 and the speakers are just normal ASAD type once lol

if its the driver could any off you locate the correct once for me please any other information is much needed.

Much appreciated.

Could be just the auto jack sensing freaking out. Check in the sound contol center and make sure the rear jack are set as default.

In the sound control it's showing up as speakers are working properly ? hmm this does look like a driver issue dont you think

Look in device manager to see if there any entries listed with yellow or red on them.

It has to say more than just high definition audio. Most likely thats the hdmi port that you have. It must say via, realtek, sigmatel, IDT in front of it for it to acdtually be installed correctly. So you definately have a driver issue.

Go into system devices in device manager and see if you have an entry listed as "microsoft uaa bus driver for high definition audio". That has to be installed first before your actual sound driver can install properly. However, usually the driver software will install that first and then the actual sound driver.
