Questions about uploading miniDV video.

We all know that if we want to upload music to our computer in an uncompressed format, we can use a .wav file. I'm trying to upload video from my miniDV camcorder via USB, but when I uploaded it, it asks what bit-rate I want to save it as. All the bitrates that it offers are compressed formats. I don't want the video compressed, I want it exactly as it comes from camcorder. The only video editing software I have is Windows Movie maker. So, how can I upload my video and save it in an uncompressed format? Thanks.

What type of camera is it? Do you know if it has firewire?

On the camera, next to the USB port, there's another port that says "DV." I'm assuming this stands for Digital Video. I don't have any cable that fits that and I don't see anything on my computer that says "DV." I'm not sure what you mean by firewire. Besides the USB ports, my comp has 4 other input/output ports:
1.) SM xD
2.) CF/MD
3.) SD/mini MMC/RS
4.) MS/Pro/Duo

Yeah...not all computers have it, so you might have to purchase one. But they usally are fairly cheap cards, and the quality is much better. I've also had much better luck over USB devices. Usally just standard windows drivers are all that you need.

Buy Firewire card for $10 on Ebay and get free soft like WinDV for capture. This program is best for capture, you dont loose any quality,no dropped frames...then I use Premiere Pro(kind expensive)but u already use WMM.
But like I said WinDv is very easy, very popular and free.
I dont like to use video through USB,always had a problem.
