When you use headphones at the front audio jacks do you hear noises? Mine makes noises when there are headphones plugged into the front jacks, but not the rear jacks on the motherboard. Anyway to fix this besides using the back jacks since they're harder to get to.

Tried a different headset they worked

i'm using the jack on my HT receiver now,
but back when i did use the front headphone jack, i didn't have any noticeable noise.
try another set of headphones or try updating the audio drivers.
also, if there are other peripheral attached, they may be causing some interference.

I have an Antec 900 case, however I use a USB headset. With that said, it could be one of a few different things. Most likely it's something to do with that headset on those connectors on the front (obviously). You could try reseating the connection from the motherboard to the case ports on the front. Also, most motherboards have 2 different types of audio connectors that would connect to the front audio ports on the case, try plugging that connector into the other jack (one is for "HD" audio, one is for "mono" or something...). I'm trying to look up the exact names for them right now.

Sadly I dunno...I cut the wires out the second I got it :P

Ok, finished looking it up and you'll either need to be on the SPDIF_OUT port, or the AAFP (at least that's what they're called on my Asus board) port. You can only really be on one or the other, as one is a 4-pin connector and the other is a 10-pin. If I remember correctly, mine is on the SPDIF_OUT connector; so make sure it is that one, and if it is, unplug it and re-seat it to see if it clears it up. Other than that, I find that with a lot of mini-jack (1/8") headsets that if I twist the connector around in the port or twist the cord right at the connector a little bit that it will clean up the buzzing noise. Basically it's just not getting a clean connection a you just need to wiggle it a bit to get it to 100%.

Sadly it was my headset I loved that pair of headset too. As far as the hd/ac97 audio connector goes, I use the hd since thats whats pre set in the bios on my motherboard. Working fine with new headset though.
