Hey, Im kinda a newbie.. so go easy here

Ok, I thinking about adding a computer to my room so i can surf the internet while in my room. I need a router for splitting my internet connection (Pref. a wireless one) for a good price.. Im running on a DSL Internet connection (100 Mbps)...

N e body know a good place to get one?

Thanks!

Basically, you could get a Linksys, or anyother one brand, wireless router that has a 4-port back. So..you put the interent connnection into the router, and it will broadcast wirelessly, but you can also plug in other computers into one of the 4-ports. Here's something you could get here
hope this is what you were looking for. :)

What could i plug in the back of the router? How would i connect my printer to that? and do i need a wireless card for the computer im buying?

You plug the ethernet cord from your modem to the back of the router. As for a printer, you're going to need a printer hub/server (?), but the router and the printer hub you can find at www.newegg.com. As for the computer you're buying, most come with a wireless card standard. If not...then it'd be weird. Otherwise it'd cost around $30+

I Contacted Dell about the Dimension 2400, and asked if the computer came with a wireless card and they said no.. How would i install a wireless card?
Or would their be an easier way to set this up so i could split the internet connection?

Insted of a wireless card, would i need a wireless adapter or do i need both?

Does the Dell come with an open pci slot? If it does, then you can maually install the card yourself, and along with the wireless router you shuold be fine.

ok, you buy a wireless router (802.11g for 54MBps, or you can get an Extreme-G or Pre-N for 100MBps+) Then the computer thats next to your modem and router, have it connected to the router with a standard ethernet cable, then plug your dsl modem into the back of the router, and get a wireless Extreme-G or Pre-N card, plug it into your pc,and go! The router will have more detailed instructions with it.
