Question about ide slot and pins

I'm looking at my brother's motherboard because I want to put an IDE hd in it. I see that it has sata slots and one ide slot.

But you guys know how there's usually one pin missing in a slot, the 20th pin I guess? This one has another pin missing, I believe its called the "6th pin." 3rd from the left on bottom. What's the deal with this slot? Is it the same slot but I just need a different cable or something?

Thanks in advance

What motherboard is it?

Ok I feel stupid now. I looked at it again and it doesn't appear to be an IDE slot, its too small to be one. Its about 1 centimeter shorter and has less pins.

The motherboard is an asus btw.

Out of curiosity, do you guys know what that kind of slot is used for?

Yeah that should be it. It says floppy right next to the slot lol.

But are we talking about those big floppy disks from like the 1990's? I'm wondering why a relatively new motherboard would have that slot.
