PSU Help before I buy

I was about to buy my system and I cant decide on the Mobo/PSU, please help. This Quad SLi is driving me nuts, I hear so many different things. Let me know if there is a better Mobo out there for what I need, I will eventually want to upgrade to 2 GPU's and probably Quad them. Also, will be overclocking so I need the good rails/voltage or something, so the PSU needs to stand up to that.

Thanks!

The only rail you really need to worry about is the 12v rail. Look for at least 35 for a system like yours. I would shoot for at least 600w and 40A on the 12v rail.

get the one i have the pc power and cooling really good power supply its has 850 watts more than anybody needs and has 5 year warranty its really worth the price

it works fine with my rig

Very nice PC, do you suggest a motherboard for me? or is mine top of the line. I plan to due 2 x SLi and eventually Quad with OCing

i would change the motherboard get the asus a8n32 i checked some reviews out between the one you wanna get and the asus and asus performs a little better

I recomened because i have it in my system works really fine ..

How is it with voltage and stuff like that, for overclocking. Also, I see you have XFX 7900GTX, I was going with the evga 7900GTX... which brand is better? Your system is almost identical to mine... which of us has better ram? I would get your soundcard too but cant afford that one.

i dont know these are the memory timings yours:2-3-2-5 mine:2-3-3-6

the graphic card i have 700 mhz and i have 2 in sli and my graphic card Memory Clock is 1800

You have almost same for one graphic card 690 mhz and 1760MHz

And the price mine each one costs $800 both $1600 and yours each i think about $600

But the thing is that i have 2 so its a big diffrence and the brand xfx and evga they are both good almost evry brand is good and to tell you the truth i would not overclock my system too dangerous for me i too expensive parts but its your choice if you want to they you will do it

Hope you will happy from your rig

o and another thing in your budget get some mabye extra 150 bucks get the better power supply it seams it could do the job of running pc very nice but its not Dual +12V.. Try getting Dual +12V it will be better or perhaps get the one i have its Triple +12V its a bit expensive but i think worth the money if your getting a high end system and dont want it to go down on you in the future..

Oh yea, I decided on the PSU, and your mobo. Im going to stick with my Ram though, timing is slightly better. Where did you get your system and how much was it, almost identical now.

Darn, its out of stock now... so are a few things from zipzoom that I need, oh well. Anyhow, is your HD's the 10K/16MB ones like mine, except you have 2. Would it be a bottle neck system if I decided to go with all what im getting, basically your set up... but with an AMD 4000 San Deigo? Then just upgrade to FX60 / 1 more vid card / 1 more HD later?

i think if your a true gamer that my system would be the best for you for right now at this time this is the almost best system you will get for a fair price because i dont think you need some crazy quad sli and 2 server processors and other things like 4 gigs

Oh most def. Your system is TOP NOTCH, you can probably last 4-5 years without having to upgrade if you keep your system clean. Unless your some type of video editor or gaming graphics pro - which will require new cards each time they come out.... other than that, that system is a beast. Im just gonna go with it, but ill get my second vid card and HD later on. Thanks for the help and recommondations. I'll post the build with pics and all when I get it, hopefully by the end of this month all parts are here.

its a program that tests your computer and theng gives it a score for cpu graphic card and other stuff and than adds it all up to one score .

The higher the score the better pc parts you have and its fast.

I havent done mine yet i am still playing with the system a little but will soon
