Project Ideas for a Broken CR-48 (Chromebook)

So I have a CR-48 coming with a busted screen. Since you can't get replacement screens for these guys I'd like to turn it into some sort of project. These things have tiny motherboards (About 8" x 4"), so the obvious idea is wire it up into something cool.

My current idea is to make a WiiPC. That is, a computer inside the shell of a Wii. I could stick in a slimline DVD drive and wire up the USB ports and card slot. The coolest part is that I could even get the GameCube controller ports to work, but due to the cost/time of creating/buying a USB to GameCube controller adapter I'd probably just do one. I'd like to modify the outside of it as little as possible. The end goal would be to get Windows running on it and load up some emulators.

Anyway, that's the current idea I'm thinking of, but I'd love some suggestions, either for the WiiPC or for a completely different project.

Nope.

When I get it I'll look up the model number on the screen on the off chance that some other model uses it, but so far I haven't been able to find anything.

I'd like to give a Chromebook a whirl. I just don't wana buy one :D

just download chromium and voila! You have a chromebook. I dont really get paying for a netbook with chrome when you can install it on a flash drive and use it anywhere...

The wiipc sounds cool, or do up a job inside an old NES shell!

First post here! Love the idea of the WiiPC. Nothing better good old GameCube games. An SNESpc or NESpc would be pretty sweet but then again I love the retro goods. Still have my SNES, going 20 years strong!

What do you plan on doing with the Cr-48 pieces that won't be used? I have a Cr-48 that has a busted hinge but everything else is perfect. The rubberized finish on the bottom piece of the main housing is peeling. Wish I could find somewhere to buy replacement housings and hinge but I guess with Google this was a one time thing.
