Problems with teamspeak and mic

I play counter strike source and me and my friend are using teamspeak. I have used teamspeak for years on games and I have used this same mic on it. It has always worked till now. When i talk he says he can only hear static. We've tried everything we possibly can to get it to work. It says that the computer is recognizing the device so I don't know what could be wrong can anyone help me?

does the mic have any drivers with it. if it does reinstall them or reinstall the drivers for the soundcard and see if that works.
