Problems with sound cards

Hi guys,

I have a problem with my sound card - i.e, it pops and crackles a bit whenever it makes a sound.

I think the problem is a conflict issue. The one that crackles is an onboard card, it's a VIA Technology card. I have another one (Avange Logic ALS4000), which I cannot get to work. I've been trying various drivers for the Avance card, but none seem to make it work.

If I disable the Via onboard card, will that help make my Avance card work? If so, how do I disable it best?

when did this happen, maybe the elastic layer inside has been crushed or something.

1. Try disabling that second soundcard
2. Another thing to consider is to check the latest drivers, my Audigy did that to me for the longest time untill i tried new drivers and now it behaves
