Problems with home network

We have cable internet, and we are trying to get internet to TWO computers.

I have a cable going from the cable modem to a hub, in the "uplink" slot. I have the other two computers pluged into slots #1,#2.

One of the computers work fine, but the other says the LAN is connected, but I have no internet....I'm lost.

Can anyone help?

Can Hub's be used as routers? I'm actually not sure.... but if I'm thinking correctly, I don't think they can be, because hubs don't supply internet to multiple computers, as I believe they will only supply it to one computer, as routers supply to multiple. Best idea, get a router. Or....(someone fill in..)

start>run>"cmd">"ipconfig" look at the ip address of the two computers

start>run>"cmd">"ipconfig /renew" on the computer that does not have internet.

idk if tha will work...

Didn't work, it said the adaptor wasn't permissable.

A week ago, I had this hub in my dorm, spreading the internet to 4 people.

I have NO idea wtf is going on....
